People in countries all over the world have a special day each year when they join together to pay tribute to their patron saint and celebrate their nation's history, culture and way of life. The most obvious examples of such festivities are those that take place in Ireland on St. Patrick's Day. However, England and the English people have just as much to be proud of, with accomplishments in many fields of endeavour and enterprise that are second to none. St. George's Day (April 23rd) ought to be a date in the calendar when everyone in England, whatever their background, can enjoy and share their common heritage. We are therefore urging the government of the United Kingdom to make it an official Public Holiday. Please feel free to vote on this important issue, and sign our on-line petition.
